First, is interracial dating popular?

Does it make sense to travel for interracial dating? Though interracial couples are not yet dominating, we can see a big increase in the number of interracial couples worldwide. However, not every country and city will welcome you as an interracial couple. And it is not only about a White and a Black Person, it is also about a Black and an Asian couple, regardless of the genders of the partners. The problem comes both from the legal and cultural aspects of society. Quite often people are not open to and ready to accept such relationships. 

If we take the US stats, the part of interracial marriages in all new marriages registered has grown from 3% in 1967 to 19% in 2019. And the public approval of interracial marriage has also risen from around 5% to 94% over the last 50 years. 

What are the best places for interracial dating?

The world is very diverse when it comes to accepting interracial dating. Take for example Brazil, where interracial marriages are considered a norm. Other good interracial dating locations should include Australia, the UK, the US, and Canada. Let’s take look at them one by one.

Brazil

Interracial marriages are nothing new there, as for generations those people have seen couples of Black, Asian, Middle Eastern, White, and Caucasian. Some people say that the trend started as an attempt to save Black people from slavery and grant them equal rights through intermarriage. Skin color doesn’t matter in Brazil as long as you can fit in the culture and adopt the values that people have. That’s why Brazil can be the number one place for interracial dating. You will never be condemned there, it is considered a norm. 

Where to travel in Brazil? If you choose Brazil as your destination, go to Rio de Janeiro. Its unique atmosphere will impress you. Take a look at the famous Christ statue on the top of the mountain. Visit the famous Carnaval and enjoy the sunny beaches. Among other cool locations in Brazil, you can find Sugar Loaf, Iguaçu Falls, Salvador’s Pelourinho, and more. 

Australia 

Is Australia good for interracial dating? The answer is Yes… almost. The thing is Australians are not publicly against interracial relationships, but this concept is still quite new for them. However, if you look at Australians themselves, about 30% of families are composed of mixed races. In general, it looks like people don’t care about other marriages, be those interracial or not. If you travel to Australia, visit a green Canberra and nearby nature reserves. The Gold Coast can be an ideal place to date and meet someone, while numerous national parks (Daintree Rainforest, Karijini, and the Pinnacles) can become nice and non-trivial places for dating. 

United States

In the US the topic of interracial dating is widely discussed and moved forward by social organizations and groups, which allows us to forecast a tremendous growth of interracial marriages in the future. That said, people are quite open to interracial dating here. Only 10% of the population says that they wouldn’t date people of another race, which gives you quite a lot of like-minded and open people in the end (90%). If we take a look at particular states, there are leaders in acceptance and so to say cities to avoid. Traveling as an interracial couple, try to stay away from Los Angeles, San Diego, San Francisco, and San Antonio. You can feel the negativity towards your couple and even hear bad stuff and face physical aggression. Especially, such cities as Boston, Tucson, and Mississippi will disappoint you a lot.

Fortunately, there are way more good areas than bad ones. Give a try Honolulu, San Diego, New York, Seattle, Denver, Los Angeles, San Jose, Oakland, and Montclair. Those cities are good for both interracial dating and marriage. 

What to check there? 

Well, Honolulu is a perfect place for dating. You can have romantic walks along the Waikiki beach, have fun in the water sports center, or go on a sunset cruise. San Diego’s Balboa Park is already a nice place for a date, but you can also go to Coronado beach, check out the Zoo and the Safari park, or invite your partner to the old town night tour. New York is the best city for dating. You can go on a jazz cruise, try whiskey tasting, go to an escape room, have fun axe throwing, and dine on a rooftop. Whatever you imagine as a bold date idea, you will get in New York.
